All-Party Parliamentary Group on Migration

About

Notice: APPG Membership Update

We are currently reconstituting the membership of the APPG. The website will be updated with the new officers and group members in September, following the recess, when the group resumes its activities.

With a cross-party membership of MPs and Peers, the group’s mission is to provide a continued opportunity for evidence-based political debate about the challenges and opportunities relating to contemporary migration flows in the UK.

Key activities undertaken by the APPG on Migration include regular cross-party meetings in parliament on immigration issues, as well as in different regions of the UK with key parliamentarians and other stakeholders. The APPG produces regular briefing papers to support debate, as well as making the latest reports on key topics available to members.

The APPG is co-chaired by David Simmonds, MP for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner and Olivia Blake MP for Sheffield, Hallam.

The secretariat of the APPG on Migration is the RAMP Project. The APPG is in the register of All-Party Groups.

At the @APPGPoverty @APPGMigration launch we’re hearing from Omar and Mary about their lived experiences of our system – Omar in particular about the impact the right to work had after the system’s designed destitution. That’s why the right to work should be given after 6 months

Mary is telling us about her experience of housing – the enormous impact getting a stable home and support had on her and her children’s wellbeing. The system forced her and her children into poverty. The recommendations in this report would help 1000s, she says.
